Hybrids between species of the genus Triticum and species of the genus Agropyrum

Hybrids between species of the genus Triticum and species of the genus Agropyrum

Zuchter 6: 211-15

Crosses were made between the following species of Triticum: durum, milgare, dicoccum, mono-coccum, polonicum and Spelta and of Agropyrum, repens, tenerum, glaucum and elongatum. Hybrid plants were only obtained from the crosses between T. vulgar e and T. durum with A. elongatum. The hybrids, which were completely sterile, resembled the Agropyrum parent and their morphological characters are briefly described.
