Abstract
The author studied the intestinal movements in 42 cases of exophthalmic goitre by barium meal. Hypermotility was present in 93 per cent., the head of the meal being beyond the caecum in 3 hours. After operation (mostly thyroidectomy) the rate of intestinal motility was decreased in 32 cases.
