Influence of daylength on susceptibility of sunflower to affection with broom-rape

Influence of daylength on susceptibility of sunflower to affection with broom-rape

Compt Rend Doklady Acad Science Urss 32(6): 446-447

"Giant" and "Dwarf" sunflowers, grown in 9- and 13-hr, photoperiods, showed increased invasion by broom rape in plants subjected to the shorter photoperiod. It is suggested that this may be due to a number of factors, such as increased antibody production and better nutritional conditions of the host plant with the longer photoperiod.
