Inheritance of resistance to Cercospora oryzae in rice

Inheritance of resistance to Cercospora oryzae in rice

Phytopath 30(12): 1041-1047

6 crosses were made between vars. of rice resistant and susceptible to C. oryzae. Plants of the progenies artificially inoculated with pure cultures and also exposed to natural field infection were studied. Resistance was dominant in the F1 and a 31 ratio of resistant and susceptible plants was secured in the F2. Studies with the F3 confirmed the assumption that a single dominant gene is involved.
