Abstract
Nearly 6 yrs'. observation on treated timber under tropical conditions showed that effective protection against termites and fungi was given by naphthenates of Cu and Hg dissolved in gas oil. Gas oil, itself, used as a solvent, also proved to have unexpectedly effective preservative properties.
