Abstract
glauca contains anabasine but no nicotine. The F1 from 2V. glauca x N. Tabacum is also nicotine free, the presence of anabasine being genetically dominant to nicotine. Though the F1 has been recorded as sterile, the author succeeded accidentally in obtaining 150 seeds in two pods after back-crossing large numbers of the F1 to 2V. Tabacum represented by the Turkish variety Samsun, which has a nicotine content of 1.764%.
