Macrophomina phaseoli (Maubl.) Ashby. The pycnidial stage of Rhizoctonia bataticola (Taub.) Butler

Macrophomina phaseoli (Maubl.) Ashby. The pycnidial stage of Rhizoctonia bataticola (Taub.) Butler

Trop. Agriculturist 70(2): 77-79

The recent discovery by Small in Ceylon of a stem blight of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) caused by Macrophomina phaseoli leads the author to believe that a careful search would reveal further occurrences of the pycnidial stage of Rhizoctonia bataticola on some of the jungle plants in Ceylon.
