Notes on the phosphorus deficiency theory of the causation of dental caries



Brit. Dent. J 52: 570-574



The following theory is put forward to account for the causation of dental caries. (1) The main predisposing cause is a deficiency of phosphorus in the diet. (2) The deficiency is caused thus: (a) the methods of preparation of food for consumption reduce the phosphorus content.
