Samples representing 3 types of diets said to be commonly used in Puerto Rico were analysed for proximate principles, mineral and vitamin A content. The actual amount of food consumed by one person was known only for one sample so that the results are presented as the percentage composition and show the quantities of the different constituents contributed by equicaloric amounts of each diet.
