In 1937 foot rot of asparagus caused by Fusarium culmorum is stated to have attacked 5 per cent. of all stands in Saxony, and up to 26 per cent. in one plantation at Weinbohla. The disease first appears in June or July and affects the older plants, young plants and wild stocks being attacked only following insect or other injury. The disease takes three different forms.
