Within the years 1915-1919 an average of from 45, 000 to 55, 000 complement fixation tests have been made annually by the United States Bureau of Animal Industry for the diagnosis of dourine. The samples were forwarded from Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Arizona, and New Mexico, and especially from the Indian Reservations in these States.
