Abstract
The literature is reviewed and a brief survey is given of 400 cases. It is suggested that early postnatal rickets and florid rickets with multiple fractures may be due to insufficient storage of calcium at birth as a result of nutritional and metabolic defects in the mother. A case of rickets with multiple fractures is reported at the early age of 2 months.
