A review of progress in the field of propagation of deciduous fruit trees. There is a "Foreword" by R. G. Hatton, director of the East Mailing Research Station. The author considered some 250 publications for pertinent references. Many of these concern species other than fruits. The reviews of papers are not critical, though many of the claims have not been verified or well founded. 14 pages are used for practical applications and method of propagation by cuttings, layer, stools, etc. Recommendations are offered for future research. There is an index to authors and subjects.
