Pulping Eperua falcata

Pulping Eperua falcata

Colonial research 45. I. Colonial Research Committee. Second Annual Report. II. Colonial Products Research Council. III. Colonial Social Science Research Council. First Annual Report, H.M. Stationery Office,London, UK: 1945. 21

Attention has been directed to the possibility of using Wallaba (Eperua falcata) wood, which is stated to grow in large stands in British Guiana, for the manufacture of paper pulp. Since this wood is rich in resin, it is desirable to examine this in order to determine whether it might be of economic value. If a use can be found for the resin, it would remove a serious obstacle to the establishment of a paper-pulp industry.
