Recurrent Ophthalmia (Iridocyclitis)

Recurrent Ophthalmia (Iridocyclitis)

Vet. Med, 33: 210-215

III. This disease affects the iris, ciliary body and lens, the cornea and posterior structures of the eye being subsequently affected. The aetiology has not been definitely established. The earliest symptoms noticed are conjunctivitis, followed by ptosis and miosis. In late stages of the disease the aqueous humour may contain blood or pus-like exudate. The iris becomes oedematous, and subretinal haemorrhages or inflammatory exudate may cause detachment of the retina.
