Proc. R. Soc., Ser. B. London, October 1st. 704, 368-390

The first of these papers is by E. Hindle, W. S. Patton and P. C. Hou, the others being by the first two authors only. In a series of serological investigations in some cases both normal serum and that of kala-azar patients destroyed the flagellates of the Chinese strain of Leishmania, while in others, employing the identical culture, they were still alive after 24 hours.
