Abstract
Neo- beta -carotene U, otherwise called 3-mono-cis beta -carotene, is a stable crystalline stereo-isomer of beta -carotene which contains one cis double bond in the peripheral position. In biological tests with rats it was found to have about 38 per cent, of the activity of natural all -trana beta -carotene.
