Young rats just weaned received, up to ages ranging from 50 to 140 days, a diet consisting of casein 18, dextrin 66, olive oil 10, yeast 2, gallosterol 0.4 mg., and 4 parts of a salt mixture which was complete or devoid of P. To these two diets were added amounts of 1 to 10 per cent. of young mulberry leaves, dried first in the sun and later at 50 degrees C. The criteria of rickets were X-ray photographs and Ca and P estimations on the bone.
