Studies on Microsporidia parasitic in Mosquitoes. IV. Observations upon the Microsporidia found in the Mosquitoes of Georgia, U.S.A

Of 1, 450 Anopheline larvae in Georgia, 4.5 per cent. were infected with Thelahonia legeri, T. obesa, sp..,. pyriformis, sp.., and Nosema fmophelis, sp. n. Infection increases with the increase of larvae in a limited area and with certain conditions of growth of algae. One wild engorged Anopheles quadrimaculatus was lightly infected with N. anophelis, which was also found in two larvae.
