Abstract
Theories on milk secretion are discussed, and experiments, carried out to discover more information on this subject, are reported. By altering the chemical and physical composition of the blood stream through inanition, and comparing any changes in the milk, it was hoped to furnish some idea as to the precursors of the constituents of the milk and the mechanism by which it is normally excreted. Eight cows of different ages and at different stages of lactation were used.
