Studies on the Susceptibility of Shanghai Mosquitoes to Experimental Infection with Wuchereria bancrofti Cobbold. III. Culex tritaeniorhynchus Giles

Peking not. Hist. Bull, Peiping, 10: pt. 1, 39-43

In 1933 and 1934, experiments similar to those already noticed were carried out in Shanghai to test the susceptibility of reared adults of Culex tritaeniorhynchus, Giles, to infection with Filaria (Wuchereria) bancrofti. Of 181 examples fed on a heavily infected person, 97 harboured filarial larvae when dissected after an incubation period of more than 10 days.
