Studies on the Susceptibility of the Shanghai Mosquitoes to Experimental Infection with Wuchereria bancrofti Cobbold. VI. Culex vagans Wiedemann

Studies on the Susceptibility of the Shanghai Mosquitoes to Experimental Infection with Wuchereria bancrofti Cobbold. VI. Culex vagans Wiedemann

Peking nat. Hist. Bull, Peiping, 13: pt. 2, 113-116

During 1934-35, experiments similar to those already noticed were undertaken in Shanghai to determine the susceptibility to infection with Filaria (Wuchereria) bancrofti of females of Culex vagans, Wied., reared from larvae collected locally. Of the 206 mosquitos dissected 13-21 days after the infecting feed, 189 harboured infective larvae.
