Continuing his observations on the susceptibility of Shanghai mosquitoes to experimental infection with Microfilaria malayi Hu has attempted to infect 132 Culex tritaeniorhynchus reared in the laboratory but only two became positive carriers and each carried only a single larva. This species never seems to be the dominant household mosquito in Shanghai though they represent over 5% of the mosquito fauna at the end of July and beginning of August.
