This paper contains much historical and other information concerning the epidemiology of the diseases (Rocky Mountain spotted fever, tsutsugamushi disease, etc.) that the author considers to be local forms of typhus in various parts of the world, in support of his main thesis of the importance of ticks and mites, particularly Trombi-diids, in their transmission.
