From abaca (Musa textilis) plants suffering from a vascular disease characterized by symptoms resembling those of Panama disease due to Fusarium oxysporum f. 3 in various parts of the Philippines, the writer has isolated in pure culture bacteria (present in the xylem vessels, parenchymatous cells, and phloem) and the above-mentioned fungus, which was commonly localized in the pseudo-stem.
