The organs of normal rats and of rats which had been fed for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 weeks on a vitamin B1 free diet were tested for their vitamin Bl content, by comparing the growth of vitamin B1 deficient rats after receiving single doses of the test material. Liver, kidney, and heart had a higher vitamin B1 content than any of the other materials tested. Next was brain and then muscle, lung, spleen, stomach and intestines.
