Clibadium surinamense L. como aporte proteico para condos nueva zelanda en la etapa de levante y ceba

A completely randomnized statistical design with different number of repetitions was used; 20 experimental units; 4 treatments with 4 and 5 repetitions. A total of 60 female rabbits were used: 15 per treatment and 3 per repetition. The evaluated variables during growing (28 days) and fattening (14 days) periods were: food consumption, weight increase, nutrient conversion and mortality. Sigificative differences were registered trough the research (p < 0.05) regarding the evaluated variables. The witness treatment showed the best biological result: 26.82 g daily increase and a conversion index of 3.44 during the growing period, and 32.52 g daily increase and 3.87 conversion index in the fattening period. Treatment 3 showed the lowest results with respectively weight increase and conversion indexes of 4.38 g and 23.19 during the growing period and 8.88 g and 14.09 during the fattening period. Thanks to this research it was determined that the Clibadium surinamense L. fitosterols could affect endogenous and exogenous intestinal cholesterol absorption, which may cause changes either on hormonal esteroid synthesis and on biliary salts. According to the results of treatment 1, during the fattening period, refering to weight increase (32.04 g per day) it is recommended to use C. surinamense at a rate of 24.2 percent in the diet, in order to reach efficient productive-economical outcomes.
