From the heartwood of these Pines of Spanish origin, the following substances have been isolated: from P. pinea, I-arabinose, pinocembrin, and pinosylvin monomethyl ether; from P. pinaster, I-arabinose, pinobanksin and pinocembrin; from P. halepensis, pinosylvin and pinosylvin monomethyl ether; and from P. nigra var. calabrica, I-arabinose and pinosylvin monomethyl ether.
