Experiments on hot-water treatment of strawberry runners for eelworm control

Experiments on hot-water treatment of strawberry runners for eelworm control

Tidsskr. Planteavl, 58: 149-68. bibl. 7

Experiments with the strawberry variety J.A. Dybdahl, the variety most commonly grown in Denmark, confirmed that Staniland's method of hot-water treatment gives satisfactory control of Aphelenchoides ritzemabosi and A. fragariae. The best results were obtained with a 10-minute treatment at 46.2-46.5 degrees C., a lower temperature being less effective and a higher temperature being liable to cause severe damage to the plants.
