In comparative tests during 1944, 1946, 1947, and 1948 at the Horticultural Experimental Station, Milan, against vine downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) the addition of lime-sulphur (1.6 to 2.3 per cent.) to Bordeaux mixture (0.3 to 1 per cent.) increased the amount of control obtained (as compared with plain Bordeaux mixture) by 17 to 28 per cent. for leaf infection and 21 per cent. for fruit infection.
