For earlier parts see Absts. 1619, Vol. 22; 3649, Vol. 23. 3. Ca and P balances were studied for eight 10day periods in 3 cows at different stages of lactation and for 3 periods in dry pregnant cows. All were fed on ensiled beet tops a little lucerne hay, relatively large amounts of dried beet pulp, and concentrates consisting of wheat bran, soya bean meal and groundnut meal, according to milk yield. Even without added minerals the rations were rich in Ca and P.
