Gastric phase of milk digestion in childhood. A study of the fasting secretions and of the physiologic response to hard curd (pasteurized) and soft curd (homogenized) milks

The experiments were done with 28 boys and 31 girls ranging in age from 3 to 14 years. In the morning a duodenal tube with a Lyon bucket was placed in the empty stomach, fasting secretions were withdrawn for analysis, the children were given 8 oz. of milk to drink and samples were then aspirated at intervals for analysis.
