Urinary excretion of neutral S was the same in healthy non-pregnant women as in healthy women in late pregnancy, the average values for 50 subjects being 13.3 and 13. per cent., respectively, of the total S excretion. For 50 women in early pregnancy the average was 14.8 per cent. For 21 normal pregnancies the average neutral S excretion in the parturition period, was 16.3, and in the first 24 hr. post partum 14.5 per cent.
