Inheritance of phage transforming and morphological characters in a cross between distantly related strains of Escherichia coli

Inheritance of phage transforming and morphological characters in a cross between distantly related strains of Escherichia coli

Caryologia. 6: Suppl, 971-73

Crosses were made between strains C (BTCC122) and K125 which differ in respect of phage transformation, phage? -C acceptance, S13 acceptance, cell form and nuclear morphology. A large number of recombinants was found carrying markers from the C parent only, suggesting that this is the accepting or F-partner in the cross (cf. PBA, XXIII, Absts. 921 and 1713).
