New aspects of the value of phosphates and carbonates in land fertility

New aspects of the value of phosphates and carbonates in land fertility

Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. India, 21A: 156-165

Like carbonates, Ca phosphates act as buffers in decreasing soil acidity. Oxidation of organic matter is thus increased and the C: N ratio in the soil decreased, ultimately resulting in a greater fixation of atmospheric N.
