On breeding and cultivation of soya bean

On breeding and cultivation of soya bean

Zuchter, 17-18: 411-13

Tolerance to early sowing is important in the breeding of soya bean for higher yields and for varieties which will ripen early and reliably under German climatic conditions. Soya bean germinates at an external temperature of 12 degrees C., but forms are found which germinate at lower temperatures and would therefore be useful for early sowing.
