On chromosome numbers, polysomaty and persistent nucleoli in cultivated cucurbits.

On chromosome numbers, polysomaty and persistent nucleoli in cultivated cucurbits.

Idengaku Zasshi/Jap. J. Genet 26: 41-51

In Cucurbita maxima, C. moschata and C. pepo, 2n = 40. Nucleoli in these species frequently persist till somatic metaphase. The ratio of cellular to nuclear diameter at metaphase was roughly constant for the three species (6.5-8.0).
