Abstract
Three physiologic races of Phytophthora infestans were recognized in Peru in 1951, one corresponding to race A, characterized by sparse mycelial growth, small sporangia, and minimum virulence; another to D, with normal mycelial development, sporangia of intermediate size, and moderate virulence; and the third to C, having abundant mycelium, the largest sporangia, and the greatest virulence.
