Place effect on economic characters of Gaorani cotton



Indian Cotton Growing Rev 8(2): 105-124



Results of a study of location of growth effect on agronomic properties of several varieties of Gossypium arboreum var. neglectum f. indie a are reported. The characteristics studied were: (1) yield of seed cotton per acre, (2) ginning percentage, (3) weight of 100 seeds, (4) fiber length, (5) fiber weight, (6) yarn strength, and (7) spinning capacity. Locational effects are reported for all characters at some locations. An attempt is made to relate the observed differences to rainfall and soil type changes.
