Relation between chlorine number and permanganate number of kraft pulps

Relation between chlorine number and permanganate number of kraft pulps

Pulp Paper Mag. Can, 48: 9, 83-4

Both the chlorine number and various permanganate numbers are widely used as measures of the degree of delignification of chemical pulps. In experiments made to compare the two measures, it was found that the standard error of estimate of permanganate number was much higher than 0.2 (the figure within which duplicate determinations of permanganate number usually agree).
