Resistance and biotype tests with two species of Wheat bunt: Tilletia foetida (Wallr.) Liro and Tilletia triticoides Savul

Resistance and biotype tests with two species of Wheat bunt: Tilletia foetida (Wallr.) Liro and Tilletia triticoides Savul

Novenytermeles, 1: 1, 93-102

None of the 30 local varieties and strains of wheat tested by means of artificial infection for resistance to bunt (Tilletia foetida and T. triticoides) in Hungary was resistant. The results indicate that Hungarian wheat varieties are on the whole more susceptible to T. foetida than to T. triticoides. Isolates of the former from the south-eastern part of the country differed considerably in their pathogenicity to ten differential varieties from those from the other parts.
