Abstract
In biological tests, all-trans- gamma -carotene, isolated from the ripe berries of Pyracantha angustifolia, was found to have 26 per cent. of the activity of beta -carotene. Neo- gamma -carotene P from the same source had 19 per cent., and the mixed neo- gamma carotenes obtained by refluxing gamma -carotene had 16 per cent. of the activity of beta -carotene. T. Moore.
