The biology of growth and reproduction in the mango is discussed. Irregular bearing may be overcome if half of the mature buds of the off-year can be forced to produce reproductive shoots in January/February and if vegetative growth can be forced in June/July in an on-year. Trials at Sabour show that N is the controlling factor in growth and production and gives best results when combined with P and K, while P and K singly have little effect.
