Studies on the bitter rot of Cherries

The writer's studies on cherry bitter rot (Glomerella cingulata) and on a number of related strains from Europe and North America at the Federal Technical College, Zurich. were concerned with the forms of the pathogen, its 'chain' of infection, and the predisposition of the host in relation to the prerequisite conditions for the development of an epiphytotic hi Switzerland. The author considers that the name G. rufomaculans should be retained on the grounds of priority.
