Experiments are reported in which 25 varieties were compared for reaction to (1) interplanting with spring wheat, (2) different planting dates. It was discovered that there was a strong negative correlation between sensitivity to light and reduction in yield due to interplanting with wheat; light-sensitive varieties are therefore recommended for interplanting.
