Sweet lupins. 1. Composition of the protein of the white sweet lupin, Lupinus albus

Sweet lupins. 1. Composition of the protein of the white sweet lupin, Lupinus albus

Arch. Tierernahrung. 1: 295-307

Defatted ground lupin seeds were digested on a water-bath for 30 min. with 1 per cent. HCl to remove soluble carbohydrates and the residue was hydrolysed by boiling with 20 per cent. HCl for 12 hr. The hydrolysate was analysed by Van Slyke's method or the amino-acids were separated by Brazier's Cu salts method (Biochem. J., 1930, 24, 1188). Methionine and tryptophan were estimated separately.
