The Fruit Tree Bud Weevil, a Pest of young Fruit Trees In the Orange District

Agric. Gaz. N.S.W, Sydney, 63: pt. 2, 90-92; 99

The native weevil, Perperus vermiculatus Lea, attacks the buds and young leaves of apple, pear and peach in a belt to the south-west and west of Orange in New South Wales and causes serious injury to young apple trees. It has one generation a year, and the larval and pupal stages appear to be passed in the soil.
