The Malting Barley Exhibition and the quality of the Netherlands malting barley harvested in 1047

The Malting Barley Exhibition and the quality of the Netherlands malting barley harvested in 1047

Jaarb. nat. Com, Brouwgerst. 13: 11-35

The quality of the 1947 crop was the best within the 13 years' experience of the National Committee and only samples fully up to standard were exhibited. They numbered 206, and except for one sample of Saxonia were composed entirely of the variety Kenia. Combine harvesters were used on a large scale for the first time in 1947, and the quality of the grain thus harvested in comparison with that of grain harvested by self-binders is under investigation.
