The Malting Barley Show and the quality of the Dutch malting barley harvested in 1946

The Malting Barley Show and the quality of the Dutch malting barley harvested in 1946

Jaarb. nai. Com. Brouwgerst. 12: 9-22

In consequence of unusually wet, bad weather in August 1946, the quality of the Netherlands malting barley crop of that year was the poorest within the experience of the National Committee for Malting Barley. Moisture content was even for Dutch barley unusually high and some 1 per cent higher than the mean for the previous 8 years; germination capacity 1.5 per cent lower than the mean for the previous 8 years.
