The development and present position of Spotted Mountain cattle in South Burgenland

Dissertation, Tierarztl. Hochsch, Vienna., 40: 254

The average yield recorded by the 1949 Breeders' Association for Spotted Mountain cows was 2941 kg. milk with 116 kg. and 3.94% butterfat; the best yield was that of a draft cow which gave 5465 kg. milk with 217 kg. and 3.97% butterfat. Working was shown to have no effect on fertility, and to cause only a small reduction in milk yield.
